Instron's Early Career Planning Fun Day

Following on from the success of last year’s event, on 4th June we welcomed 20 students from Wycombe Abbey and John Hampden School's to take part in Instron’s second Early Career Planning Fun day.

Instron’s Women in Business group is driving a school initiative and aim to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about engineering and Instron as a company, as well as educating them about the subjects they need to take when choosing their options

The day encompassed a range of fun and interactive activities for the students, that would hopefully leave them feeling passionate and enthusiastic about the career opportunities that the world of engineering has to offer.

Throughout the day, the students had the opportunity to see all areas of the building including a tour of the factory and machine shop, and were able to participate in interactive activities in the applications lab and throughout the building. Our guests even took part in the ultimate spaghetti bridge-building competition to bring out their competitive spirits.

"We had a really good escort over the day and it has definitely changed my career path, thank you”

John Hampden Grammar School

"Once again, thank you for a brilliant day on Thursday; the students all enjoyed it and they felt it was a fantastic opportunity for them to see engineering in a commercial environment”
