A wide range of testing fixtures is available for use with Wilson Instruments Knoop/Vickers testers. Holding the specimen in a secure fashion is instrumental in performing an accurate test and ensuring reliable test results.
Principle of Operation
One of the most common testing fixtures for Knoop/Vickers testing is the UCLD, or universal clamp and leveling device. This accessory can be used to hold tapered pieces, wires, mounted samples, and other similar materials. Thin metal clamps, special V anvils for small pins, turn table vices, wire test fixtures are a few of the standard fixtures available. A rotary table is also available to allow testing around the surface of the sample.
