For Mechanical Wedge-Action Grips
2703 Series Grip Faces are designed to provide the best possible gripping for Instron 2716 and 2736 Series Wedge Action Grips.
Not every face can be used to test every material. Variations of flat surfaces and grooved faces have been developed to accommodate a wider range of requirements.
The faces are made from vanadium steel and are serrated for maximum gripping effectiveness.
Serrations of 16 and 25 teeth per inch are available.
Principle Of Operation
The faces are available with flat, v-grooved and round surfaces and in a range of sizes to accommodate most type of specimen sizes and material types.
The 16 teeth per inch serrations are preferable for use with most metal, since they provide greater penetration into the specimen and have longer wear. The 25 teeth per inch serrations are ideal for small diameter, thin, very hard, or penetration sensitive materials.
Application Range
- Tension applications for wires, plastics, metals, elastomers.
- Specimens may be round or flat.
